Stats Highlights: Eng vs India, 3rd ODI

Alastair Cook, while moving from 13 to 17, completed his 3000 ODI runs. He became the13th Englishman to reach this landmark. Only Graham Gooch, Kevin Pietersen (76 each), Nick Knight and Marcus Trescothick (82 each) have reached this target in fewer innings than Cook’s 84 for England.

Ian Bell was run-out for the16th time in an ODI- most such occasions for an England batsman. He went ahead of Allan Lamb and Paul Collingwood, who were dismissed 15 times each in this fashion.

The two stumpings in this match took MS Dhoni’s tally of stumpings in international cricket (Tests, ODIs and T20Is combined) to 131- most for any wicketkeeper. He went ahead of Kumar Sangakkara’s tally of 129.
MS Dhoni has now effected four dismissals on 10 occasions in ODIs – most by an Indian wicketkeeper. The ODI record is 26 by Australia’s Adam Gilchrist.

India have now won seven ODIs on the trot in England. They had won five in a row in 2013 Champions Trophy. India's performance is easily the best by a subcontinent side in England and one of the best for any side in England.
