Match report: Ind vs B’desh (Women), 3rd ODI

Bowlers led India women to a thumping victory over Bangladesh in the last game and ensured a clean sweep in the three-match ODI series. Defending 154 runs, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side skittled the opposition out for 96 runs and posted a 58-run win at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Earlier, upon opting to bat first, the India line-up was unable to bat the full 50 overs and was bowled out with nine balls to spare. Panna Ghosh got the ball rolling with the wicket of Smriti Mandhana to end the opening stand for 37 and followed up with the wicket of debutant V Sneha Deephti in her next. Rumana Ahmed then ran through the middle order to finish with four scalps, including the key wickets of Sawgatika Rath (30) and Kaur (29). Lata Mondal picked two, while Bangladesh captain Salma Khatun took one.

Ritu Dhrub then gave India their first breakthrough with the wicket of Farzana Haque, while Shubhlakshmi removed the other opener. Debutant Poonav Yadav then dealt crucial blows to claim three for fifteen and leave Bangladesh floundering on 58 for five. Ekta Bisht and Rath then removed two batters each to wrap up the match in India’s favour in 41. 1 overs.
