We collect and why, how we use it, and how to review and update it.The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) National Academy for Umpires (NAU) hosted a pre-season workshop for match officials from 6th August to 23rd August 2019 in Nagpur. The workshop was attended by 126 umpires (including 17 new umpires) and 71 match referees.
Mr Denis Burns, ICC Umpires Educator and S. Ravi, C. Shamshuddin, Nandan, Nitin Menon, Anil Chaudhary & Manu Nayar conducted the workshop in which the below mentioned topics were covered.
· Changes in Playing Conditions
· Code of Conduct
· TV Umpiring Simulation
· BCCI ODMS & ASCU modalities
A train the trainers’ workshop was also conducted, in which 15 Ex Umpires attended, and the topics discussed were:
· Communication activities
· Competency-based training
· Monitoring & ICC
· Coaching and training activities.
An induction programme for the newly qualified umpires to the BCCI Panel Umpires was conducted and the participants were briefed on different topics like
· Managing the game
· Managing players
· Body Language
· Communication between on field umpires & third Umpires
· Game control
