Mr. Dhoni arrived at the ceremony in his Lt. Colonel (Hony) uniform, which was conferred by the Indian Territorial Army on November 1, 2011.

The President of India presented five Padma Bhushan and thirty-eight Padma Shri Awards in all. Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were the Vice President of India, Prime Minister, Speaker Lok Sabha and Union Ministers.
