Delhi, Bengal, Karnataka registered thumping wins to collect bonus points while Gujarat too claimed an outright win over Kerala.
Himachal, Team Rajasthan, Mumbai, Tamil Nadu and Andhra garner three points each on the basis of a first innings lead from drawn games.
The match in Hyderabad between the hosts and Uttar Pradesh abandoned due to inclement weather. Both teams granted a point each.
Here are the highlights of the day:Group ARailways vs Delhi in New Delhi: Delhi registered an innings and an 105-run win on the fourth morning. The visitors picked the last four wickets for 49 runs to wrap-up the game.
After Railways resumed their second innings on 157 for six, Avinash Yadav was bowled by skipper Ishant Sharma to leave the hosts on 165 for seven. Top-order bat, Nitin Bhille then looked to trudge on with Anureet Singh. 40 runs later, Vikas Mishra bowled the lower-order bat while Manan followed up with the wicket of Bhille to leave Railways on 205 for nine. In the next over Mishra accounted for MR Choudhary to bowl Delhi to victory.
Mishra finished with four for 37 while Manan picked three for 67.

Karnataka vs Assam in Mysore: Karnataka opened their account in the Ranji Trophy 2017-18 with an innings and a 121-run win over Assam.
Assam, who were trailing by 155 runs with four wickets in hand when play resumed on the fourth day were bowled out by Vinay Kumar for 203 in the first session. The Karnataka captain claimed three of the four remaining wickets including that of his opposite number, Gokul Sharma while Abhimanyu Mithun picked one to ring in a resounding win. The senior all-rounder finished with a four-for in the innings.

Following on, Jharkhand put up a better performance to avert a defeat and received one point for their effort. After resuming their second innings on 102 for one and batted through the last day to ensure a draw. Centuries by Mohammed Nazim Siddiqui (100) and Ishank Jaggi (103) helped the visitors keep the innings afloat. When the match ended in a draw, Jaggi had taken the side to 332 for six with Sunny Gupta.

Gujarat needed 83 runs with nine wickets in hand on Day 4. The Parthiv Patel-led team lost five wickets as they worked to attain the target. The Gujarat skipper then took the team to the finish line with Chirag Gandhi.

Visitors Andhra were propelled to a solid first innings lead by Hanuma Vihari (150) and Ricky Bhui (145) after bowling Baroda out for 373.
After resuming their innings on 505 for nine on the fourth morning Andhra were bowled out for 554 with a 181-run lead. Ayyappa Bandaru then claimed two early wickets to leave Baroda on 10 for two. Aditya Waghmode and Vishnu Solanki then formed a 122-run stand to stabilise the innings. However, after Ashiwn Hebber removed Solanki, the hosts continued to lose wickets. While Waghmode was sent back in the next over leaving Baroda on 132 for four, Hebber followed up with wicket of Yusuf Pathan. A bit later Irfan Pathan was sent back by Bhargav Bhatt leaving the hosts reeling on 136 for six. Pinal Shah (9* off 65) and Swapnil Singh (50* off 51) stemmed the fall of wickets and kept the innings afloat. The pair ensured a draw and had taken Baroda to 195 for six when the match ended in a draw.

Playing their first match of the tournament, Mumbai snatched a first innings lead courtesy some determined performances by the youngsters. Having seized a narrow lead at the end of the third day, the visitors resumed their innings on 415 for eight on Day 4. Sufiyan Sheikh was the first to depart in the morning; trapped lbw by Shubham Sharma for 42 leaving the team on 439 for nine. With a run added to the tally, his overnight partner, Royston Dias was bowled by the bowler to end the Mumbai innings on 440.
When play ended later in the day, MP were 145 for six. Minad Manjrekar and Vijay Gohil claimed two wickets each while Akash Parker and Royston Dias accounted for a wicket apiece. Unbeaten on 52, Ankit Sharma was the top-scorer for the hosts in the second innings.

Having ensured a first innings lead, TN declared their innings on the overnight score of 357 for four. When bad light stopped play again on the fourth day, Tripura were 91 for three. Thereafter play couldn’t be resumed.

Ashoke Dinda and Mohammed Shami claimed the last five wickets for 30 runs to wrap-up the game and claim a bonus point. Following on, when Chhattisgarh resumed on 229 for five, they were still trailing by trailing by 190 runs.
Shami set the ball rolling with the wicket of Jatin Saxena while Dinda disrupted S Ruikar’s stumps in the next over. In his next over, Dinda accounted for Manoj Singh while Shami sent back SA Singh with the score on 253. Six runs later, Dinda brought curtains down on the match with the wicket of Pankaj Rao.
With three wickets in the second innings, Dinda finished with a ten-wicket haul in the match while Shami, who picked six in the innings, took his match tally to nine wickets.

Himachal vs Goa in Dharamsala: Himachal gained three points on the basis of first innings lead while Goa received one point from the drawn encounter.
Openers - Sumairan Amonkar and Swapnil Asnodkar - resumed Goa’s second innings on 131 without loss at a deficit of 239 runs on the last morning of the match. As the run-fest continued in Dharamsala, the openers continued to bat at a steady pace and put together a 299-run opening stand until Asnodkar was run out for 167. 33 runs later Amonkar too was run out for 137 leaving Goa on 332 for two. When the match ended, Sagun Kamat and Amogh Desai had taken Goa to 426 for two.
