Defending champions Mumbai have included 17-year-old Prithvi Shaw in their squad for the Ranji Trophy semi-final against Tamil Nadu.
The teenager recently opened the batting for India U-19 in the Youth Asia Cup held in Sri Lanka. Prithvi replaces Kevin Almeida, who made nine and one in the quarter-final against Hyderabad.
A prolific run-getter in the age-group cricket, Prithvi gained prominence with his innings of 546 runs off 330 balls in a Harris Shield match in 2013. He hit 85 fours and five sixes in his marathon knock to set a record for the highest score by an Indian in minor cricket, which was later eclipsed.
The semi-final is expected to be an exciting affair as the league match between the two teams went right down to the wire with Mumbai registering a two-wicket win.
