Tamil Nadu’s debutant pacer, Vignesh K claimed a five-for to help wrap-up the Mumbai innings on the second day. The match in Lahli is poised for an exciting finish as the game enters the third day. MP’s Harpreet Singh Bhatia scored an unbeaten 216 against UP to put his team in a strong position.
Deepak Hooda’s century put Baroda on top in the match against Gujarat. Uday Kaul and Gurkeerat Singh Mann toiled to keep Punjab in fray after Railways reduced them to 44 for four.

BS Sandhu and Tushar Deshpande (18 runs each) helped Mumbai to a 89-run first innings after Aditya Tare’s 63-run partnership with Kaustubh Pawar overhauled TN’s first innings total earlier in the day. While the Mumbai batsmen worked to extend the innings, TN debutant, Vignesh K claimed a five-for for to keep the lineup in check.
Tamil Nadu skipper Abhinav Mukund then set up the second innings with young MS Washington Sundar to seize the momentum from Mumbai. The pair had put together 107 runs until Dhawal Kulkarni got the better of Sundar. Vijay Gohil, who then followed up with the wicket of the TN captain also claimed Baba Indrajith and K Gandhi later in the day.
At stumps, TN were leading by 64 runs with B Aparajith on 15 with Kousik J on 1.

Resuming on 103 and 76, Aditya Waghmode and Deepak Hooda went on to score 142 and 118 respectively before returning to the dressing room on the second day. The centuries helped Baroda piled on a mammoth 544 before declaring their innings. Besides the middle-order contributors, Swapnil Singh down the order made 66 to boost the total.
In reply, Gujarat were 34 without loss of wicket at stumps.
Punjab vs Railways in Palam (New Delhi): Railways 1st inn 331/10 in 118 overs (S Shukla 128, A Yadav 81, S Kaul 5/68, V Choudhary 2/59); Punjab 1st inn 154/4 in 57 overs (G Mann 66, U Kaul 59, D Bansal 2/28) Trail by 177 runs.
Railways lost their last five wickets on Day 2 for 74 runs after resuming on 257 for five. Siddharth Kaul claimed Ashish Yadav to end the sixth wicket partnership for 150 earlier in the second morning and finished with a five for.
Left-arm pacer Deepak Bansal and Anureet Singh claimed the Punjab openers to leave the team on 15 for two, but Uday Kaul stood stoically to keep the innings in reckoning. He was joined by Gurkeerat Singh Mann in reviving the innings after Yuvraj Singh was sent back for nine by Manjeet Singh. The pair were involved in an unbroken 110-run stand at the end of day’s play.

Gaurav Yadav wrecked UP’s top order after Harpreet Singh Bhatia set up the match for MP with an unbeaten double-century. After resuming on 112, the batsman continued to carry the innings forward in an effort to put his team in an advantageous position in the four-day game. He was batting on 216 when he ran out of partners Hyderabad.
The MP pacer then claimed three of the five UP wickets that fell on the second day as vice-captain Eklavya Dwivedi looked to hold the innings together.
