Propelled by Gautam Gambhir’s century, Delhi are in an advantageous position against Odisha while Ishank Jaggi’s unbeaten ton helped Jharkhand maintain the upper hand against Vidarbha.
Robin Uthappa and Karun Nair keep Karnataka in the game after losing both openers early in the innings.
NS Shaikh’s 143 complemented by substantial contributions from rest of the lineup helped Maharashtra to a massive score against Team Rajasthan.
Group B, Round 4 – Day 2 Round-up:
Delhi vs Odisha in Mohali: Odisha 1st inn 237/10 in 77.4 overs (S Senapati 76, B Samantray 62, V Sood 3/23, S Narwal 2/34, M Sharma 2/52); Delhi 1st inn 351/7 in 100 overs (G Gambhir 147, R Pant 60, Milind 39*, D Singh 3/61, G Podder 2/65) Lead by 114 runs
Resuming the Delhi on 43 without loss, Gautam Gambhir and Unmukt Chand had taken the team to 57 when the latter was sent back by Suryakant Pradhan. The captain, however, continued to hold up one end and scored a century and shaped the innings. With a solid 147 off 232 balls, he helped the team to a first innings lead before returning to the pavilion. When the opener was sent back by his opposite number, Govind Podder, Delhi were 274 for five.
At the end of day’s play Delhi were 351 for seven with Milind and Manan Sharma at the crease.

NS Shaikh and R Tripathi took Maharashtra to 339 after resuming the innings on 280 for three before the former was caught by Ashok Menaria off his own bowling. At the end of the fourth wicket partnership of 122 runs, Chirag Khurana joined Tripathi in adding to the total.
However, 16 runs later the new batsman was sent back by TM Ul Haq. With VV More, Tripathi then took the team past the 400-run mark. But his knock was ended five runs short of a century by AV Choudhary leaving the team on 422 for six.
Pankaj Singh and M Lomror then picked the reaming four wickets to bowl Maharashtra out for 461. More was the last to get out; bowled by the Rajasthan captain for 62.
As Team Rajasthan looked to script a reply they lost Vineet Saxena to Samad Fallah while P Yadav was bowled by M Sayyad leaving the side on 29 for two. Menaria then joined MN Singh in the middle and the pair saw the team through to the end of day’s play.
Team Rajasthan were 76 for two at stumps.

While Amit Verma remained not out on 166 after resuming his innings on 125, Assam was bowled out for 325 on the second morning for the addition of 57 runs to their overnight score. Shreyas Gopal claimed three of the remaining four wickets to wrap up the innings.
Arup Das and Krishna Das then accounted for the Karnataka openers R Samarth and Mayank Agarwal to leave the team on four for two. However, the runs had come in extras while both batsmen returned without opening their accounts.
Robin Uthappa (108*) and Karun Nair (108*) then shaped the innings without causing further hiccups. Both bastmen posted their respective centuries as they scripted Karnataka’s reply. They had taken the team to 223 for two at stumps on the second day.

Having seized a first innings lead on Day 1, Jharkhand resumed their innings on 146 for one declared it on 362 for eight with a 257-run first innings lead. With an unbeaten 112-run knock Ishank Jaggi was the mainstay of the lineup while opener Anand Singh contributed 76 and P Singh scored 86. Useful contributions from the lineup helped Jharkhand build on the advantage given by the bowlers and setup the game in their team’s favour.
At stumps Vidarbha were 48 without loss and trailing by 209 runs with all wickets intact.
