While Punjab opener Manan Vohra posted his maiden double ton, skipper Yuvraj Singh went past 8500 runs in first-class cricket with his sparkling 179-run unbeaten knock as they close in on Baroda’s first innings total.
The match between Gujarat and Railways is heading towards a result with a day left in the game. While the Manoj Tiwary-led team needs five wickets, Karn Sharma’s team needs 119 runs to win.
The match between Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh is headed for a draw.

Powered by Manan Vohra and Yuvraj Singh, Punjab added 331 runs to their overnight total for the loss of just one wicket in the day. After resuming his innings on 33, Uday Kaul was sent back by Munaf Patel earlier in the day. Coming to the crease at 138 for two, Yuvraj Singh joined forces with the opener in milking the opposition in the run fest at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.
While Vohra registered his maiden double century, going past his previous best of 187 in first-class cricket, Yuvraj Singh posted his 26th first-class century in the ongoing game against Baroda.
The stylish left-hand batsman was batting on 179 off 253 balls while Vohra was batting on 201 off 355 deliveries in a 314-run unbroken stand when play ended for the day in New Delhi. With Punjab trailing by 77 runs with eight wickets in hand in reply to Baroda’s 529, the match is heading towards a draw with a day left in the game.

Tamil Nadu declared their first innings on 555 for seven after adding eight runs to their overnight total in three overs. N Jagadeesan remained unbeaten on 123 as the side declared their innings earlier in morning.
The TN attack then struck at regular intervals in an effort to keep the balance tipped in their team’s favour in an effort to ensure a first innings lead. After Aswin Crist and T Natrajan claimed Mukul Raghav and Rajat Patidar respectively to leave MP on 14 for two, Devendra Bundela strove to hold the innings together. The senior campaigner worked to keep the innings in the fray with a 190-ball 93, while Shubham Sharma at No 6 too toiled to help his skipper in the effort with a 160-ball 85.
Coming together at 82 for four, the Bundela-Shubham pair had taken the team to 242 when the captain was sent back by MS Washington Sundar. And seven runs later the youngster then followed up with the wicket of Shubham to leave the side on 249 for six. A while later Ankit Dane was run out with the team on 261 for seven at the stroke of end of day’s play. Ankit Sharma was not out on nine at stumps.

Karan Thakur claimed the last wicket of Pankaj Shaw in the morning to bowl Bengal out for 214, Railways faced a 315-run target in the match.
Having conceded the first innings lead, Railways have their task cut out for them as they look to chase down the competitive total. While Ashok Dinda did much of the damage in the first innings to bowl Railways out for 105, A Kuila has picked three of the five wickets that have fallen in Railways second innings until stumps on Day 3.
The young pacer claimed Saurabh Wakaskar in the eight over and followed up with the wickets of Mrunal Devdhar and Cheluvaraj in his next. Arnidam Gosh then joined Shivkant Shukla in stabilisng the Railways innings. The duo had taken the 156 when the opener was sent back by Sayan Gosh, who also trapped Arindam lbw a while later.
At stumps, Mahesh Rawat was batting on 23 with Karn Sharma on 13. Railways need 119 runs to win with five wickets in hand.

Gujarat seized a 106 runs first innings lead by claiming the remaining six UP wickets and bowl the opposition out for 241 on the penultimate day of the match. While Ishwar Choudhary claimed overnight batsman, Eklavya Dwivedi for 28, and Karan Patel accounted for Mohd Saif, H Patel and Rush Kalaria wrapped up the innings.
S Gohil and Priyank Panchal then got the team off to a good start with a 86-run opening stand. Although Kuldeep Yadav (three wickets) and S Kumar (two wickets) struck at regular intervals to leave Gujarat on 187 for five at stumps, the Parthiv Patel-led team were leading by 293 runs at the end of day’s play.
