Ashok Dinda bowled Bengal to victory with a five-for in the second innings. With five wickets in each innings against Railways the pacer completed a ten-wicket haul in the game. In the match at the Palam ground, young H Patel bowled Gujarat to a thumping win with a seven-wicket haul in the second innings against UP. After picking four wickets in the first innings to get his tally to 11, he posted his maiden ten-wicket haul in first-class cricket.
While Tamil Nadu had taken the first innings lead against Madhya Pradesh, Yuvraj Singh (260) powered Punjab to a first innings lead against Baroda in a high-scoring game. The left-hand batsman posted first double century in the Ranji Trophy as he posted his highest score in first-class cricket.

Yuvraj Singh-led Punjab to a first innings lead with a maiden double-century in Ranji Trophy. Resuming the innings on 452 for two, the left-hand batsman, who was batting on 179 when play resumed in the morning, helped overhaul the 529-run Baroda total with Gurkeerat Mann for company.
It was after Punjab had scaled the Baroda total, Mann was sent back by Swapnil Singh for 55. At 597 for four, Taruwar Kohli joined his captain in the middle and the pair continued to milk the opposition. Scoring at a quick pace, Yuvraj had registered 260 when he was bowled by Vishnu Solanki. This is also the all-rounder’s highest score in first-class cricket in 132 matches.
Swapnil and Solanki then claimed the remaining batsmen to bring curtains down on the Punjab innings on 670.
Baroda were 37 without loss in the second innings when the match ended in a draw.

After MP resumed their first innings on 261 for seven, MS Washington Sundar claimed Ankit Sharma while A Srinivas accounted for Ishwar Pandey and Chandrakant Sakure to bowl the side out for 273.
With a 282-run first innings lead, TN enforced the follow on. A Crist then claimed Aditya Srivastava and Rajat Patidar to leave MP on nine for two. While both batsmen had returned to the pavilion without opening their accounts the middle-order put up a resistance to deny TN a win and gained a point for the effort. While Harpreet Singh Bhatia scored a half-century, Shubham Sharma (77*) and Ankit Dane took the team to a draw. MP were 222 for the loss of five wickets when the match was called off.

After Railways resumed their innings at 196 for five on the fourth morning, Ashok Dinda claimed the reaming five wickets to bowl Bengal to victory in the first session.
The pacer first trapped overnight batsman Mahesh Rawat lbw 14 runs into the day’s play. As Karn Sharma stood at one end, Dinda wrapped up the innings at the other. 10 runs later he sent back Amit Mishra and on the last ball of that over accounted for Deepak Bansal. In his next, the bowler castled Anureet Singh and 37 runs later disrupted Karan Thakur’s stumps to end the innings. The Railways captain remained not out on 54 as the bottom half of the lineup succumbed to Dinda.

Gujarat lost their last five wickets for the addition of 14 runs to their overnight score of 187 for five on the fourth morning. Kuldeep Yadav (6/79) picked three while Saurabh Kumar (4/46) took two wickets on the last day to bowl Gujarat out for 201 in the second innings.
Defending 308 runs, H Patel then dismantled the UP lineup for 175. The bowler picked seven wickets while Rush Kalaria, Ishwar Choudhary and Karan Patel picked a wicket each to bowl Gujarat to a thumping win.
With four wickets in the first innings and seven in the second, H Patel registered his maiden ten-wicket haul in his fifth first-class game.
