Rohit Sharma's gritty half-century keeps Haryana afloat

Left-arm spinner Mayank Dagar claimed his maiden four-for against Jammu & Kashmir while Sandeep Warrier too picked four wickets to keep the Haryana lineup in check despite Rohit Sharma's half-century. In Indore, Anshul Gupta and S Yadav helped keep the Services innings together.

While bad weather conditions allowed only 38.3 overs of play in Cuttack in the match between Chhattisgarh and Goa, no play was possible at the Karnail Singh Stadium.

Andhra vs Services in Indore: Services 1st inn 170/3 in 90 overs (A Gupta 72, S Yadav 60*, Stephen 2/35)

Stephen claimed Soumik Chatterjee and Ravi Chauhan off successive deliveries to leave Services on 19 for two after electing to bat at the Holkar Stadium. Anshul Gupta and S Yadav then revived the innings with a solid partnership to take the team to 159 until the former was trapped leg before by DB Ravi Teja.  S Yadav (60*) then took the team to stumps at 170 for three with V Yadav (9*).

Himachal vs Jammu & Kashmir in Ranchi: J & K 1st inn 162/10 in 65.2 overs (S Khajuria 48, M Dagar 4/33, P Jaswal 3/37); Himachal 1st inn 58/2 in 16 overs (A Kalsi 25*, P Dogra 3*, R Sharma 1/4, H Singh 1/16) Trail by 104 runs

After P Jaswal trapped Umar Nissar lbw in the second over, Ian Chauhan joined Shubham Khajuria in an effort to shape the innings. However, with the team on 49, M Dagar accounted for the No 3 bat to leave the team on 49 for two. Wickets then continued to fall at regular intervals as the Mithun Manhas-led team looked to build the innings.

Jaswal claimed three while Dagar picked four wickets as Himachal bowled J & K out for 162. Harmeet Singh then gave J & K an early breakthrough by sending P Chopra back in the sixth over with just 28 runs on the board. 20 runs later Rohit Sharma followed up with the wicket of A Bains. A Kalsi and Paras Dogra then saw HP through to the end of day’s play. At 58 for two, they were trailing by 104 runs at stumps.

Goa vs Chhattisgarh in Cuttack: Chhattisgarh 1st inn 103/2 in 38.3 overs (A Khare 58*, Mohd. Kaif 8*, R Singh 1/31)

After a delayed start to the match, Chhattisgarh posted 103 for the loss of two wickets until the day’s play was called off. After being asked to bat, Abhishek Singh was sent back for a duck by R Singh in the third over. S Gupta and Amandeep Khare then continued to build the innings until the former was run out with the team on 81. Mohd. Kaif then joined the young batsman in the middle to take the innings forward. While the No 3 bat was batting on 58, the Chhattisgarh captain was unbeaten on eight when play ended for the day.

Kerala vs Haryana in Jaipur: Haryana 1st inn 227/8 in 85 overs (R Sharma 51*, S Pahal 24*, S Warrier 4/60, Vinod Kumar CV 3/37)

After Sandeep Warrier accounted for S Rohilla to leave Haryana on nine for one, Vinod Kumar CV claimed C Bishnoi and N Saini to leave the team on 53 for three. He later followed up with the wicket of Rajat Paliwal with the team on 104.

While R Sharma worked to hold the innings together, Warrier claimed three more and Jalaj Saxena chipped in with one leaving Haryana on 188 for eight. Sharma (51*) then took the team through to stumps at 227 for eight with S Pahal (24*). 

Hyderabad vs Tripura at Karnail Singh Stadium in New Delhi: No play was possible due to poor visibility on the first day.
