Goa’s Snehal Kauthankar hit a maiden double century to help his team post a challenging 413 in the first innings against Haryana. However, the big total still does not assure them of a lead as Haryana openers have started strongly, taking the team to 110 without any loss.
Andhra need 46 runs to secure a first innings lead against Kerala in Guwahati but have only four wickets in hand.

An exciting day’s play awaits in Guwahati as Andhra trail Kerala by just 46 runs but have only four wickets in hand. After adding 31 runs to their overnight total, Kerala were bowled out for 219 runs with Vijay Kumar starring for Andhra with a six-wicket haul. In response, Andhra started strongly with both openers – KS Bharat and Prashanth Kumar – posting half centuries. Rohan Prem, who had made 42, picked up the crucial wicket of Prasanth after Iqbal Abdulla had removed Bharat. Abdulla also dismissed captain Hanuma Vihari for just three as Kerala made a fine comeback to reduce Andhra to 173/6 at stumps on Day 2.
Chhattisgarh vs Hyderabad in Valsad: Hyderabad 351/10 (S Badrinath 134, Bavanaka Sandeep 96; Pankaj Rao 5/89) lead Chhattisgarh 124/1 (Sahil Gupta 55, Abhimanyu Chauhan 55*; Mohammed Siraj 1/23) by 227 runs.
Bavanaka Sandeep, who resumed Hyderabad ‘s innings on the second day with Mehdi Hasan, missed his century by just four run as he was dismissed by Abhishek Tamrakar on 96. Chhattisgarh’s Pankaj Rao played a big role on Tuesday as he picked up six wickets. Once Hyderabad were bowled out 351, Chhattisgarh openers started promisingly. They batted for over 40 overs. Sahil Gupta scored 55 before getting dismissed leg before by Mohammad Siraj. Abhimanyu Chauhan remained unbeaten on 55 and a lot will depend on him on day three as Chhattisgarh still trail by 227 runs.
Himachal vs Services in Surat: Himachal 182/4 (Paras Dogra 70, Prashant Chopra 47; Anshul Gupta 1/3) trail Services 401 (Nakul Verma 117, Ravi Chauhan 149, Vikash Hathwala 69; Rishi Dhawan 5/82) by 219 runs.
Services added 125 runs to their overnight score of 276/3 as Vikas Hathwala’s 69 off 110 balls helped them cross the 400-run mark. Rishi Dhawan picked five wickets from 30 overs for 82 runs. In reply, Himachal were in trouble after losing wickets regularly to be reduced to 182 for four from 52 overs. Robin Bist is unbeaten on 34 with Mayak Dagar on 3 and Himachal will have to bat well on the third day as they trail Services by 219 runs.

Snehal Kauthankar’s double century (225) helped Goa amass 413 runs in their first essay, but despite the big total they are still not safe, as Haryana have responded strongly. In what promises to be a high-scoring affair, Haryana openers Nitin Saini (76) and Shubham Rohilla (32) have added 110 for the first wicket in 35 overs. Credit must go to the two for showing strong resistance even after being on the field for over 144 overs. Six goa bowlers tried hard to break the partnership but could not succeed. Wicket-keeper Saini was more aggressive, hitting 10 boundaries.
Earlier, 21-year-old Kauthankar, playing his 14th first-class game registered his maiden double hundred off 342 balls. He was out for 225 when Harshal Patel (4/75) disturbed his woodwork. Senior leg spinner Amit Mishra bowled 48 overs and claimed 4/147.

Jammu & Kashmir are in course for a first innings lead against Tripura at the Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. After posting a competitive total of 315 in the first innings, the J & K bowling unit combined well to claim six Tripura wickets for just 193 runs in 70 overs. Barring opener Bishal Ghosh, who is unbeaten on 86 from 199 balls, others failed to pose a big challenge. Parvez Rasool bowled a tight line and gave away just 29 runs from 14 overs and picked two wickets.
