IN 2012, the BCCI instituted an annual tribute to one of India’s greatest Test cricketers and captains, in form of the Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi Memorial Lecture.
The inaugural lecture was delivered by former India captain and legendary opening batsman, Sunil Manohar Gavaskar in Chennai. In a nostalgic trip down the memory lane, Gavaskar reminisced his interactions with the royal cricketer and delighted the audience with Tiger’s anecdotes.
The following years, Anil Kumble and VVS Laxman delivered the lectures. This year, the fourth edition of the memorial lecture will be delivered by legendary batsman and former India captain Rahul Dravid. Dravid has been one of the pioneers of India cricket and served the game with utmost honesty. His cricketing acumen is well known and his passion and dedication towards the game is unmatched. He is currently the India ‘A’ & U-19 coach grooming young talent at the grass root level.
The event is set to take place on the 1st of December in Delhi. The Lecture will be telecast live on www.bcci.tv from 7 PM onwards.
