BCCI Interim President Mr. Shivlal Yadav on Wednesday called upon the bereaved parents of the deceased Australia Test batsman Phillip Hughes.
Mr. Yadav expressed his condolences to Phillip’s father Greg, mother Virginia, and extended solidarity from the cricket community. Mr. Yadav was accompanied by BCCI Media Committee chairman Mr. Vinod Phadke.
Earlier, Hughes was honoured at the Sydney Cricket Ground, with his family in attendance as the Australian Cricket team returned to play their first match at the ground after the tragic death of the young batsman.
Australia are playing their fourth and final Test against India at the same ground where 25-year old Phillip suffered a fatal blow to the head after being hit by a bouncer during a Sheffield Shield game on the 25th of November 2014.
