Bhuvneshwar Kumar has now taken five-wicket hauls in consecutive innings (he had returned the figures of 5 for 82 at Trent Bridge. The last Indian bowler to take five-wicket hauls in successive innings away from India was Irfan Pathan (vs Zimbabwe in 2005).

Incidentally Bhuvneshwar is the first Indian to take five-wicket hauls in successive innings in England.

Bhuvneshwar has now taken 11 wickets in the series at an average of 14.90. All other Indian bowlers have managed 9 wickets at an average of 69.44.

India have now played 27 innings without opening pair putting on a fifty stand in an away Test. The last time this happened was in 2011 against England at Lord’s when Abhinav Mukund and Gautam Gambhir added 63 runs for the first wicket.

In 17 innings Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara have batted together, they have put on eight partnerships of 50 or more – 5 in 9 innings in away Tests.

Virat Kohli recorded his third duck in 45 Test innings. The only other time he was dismissed off the very first ball was against Australia at Melbourne in 2011-12 (lbw to Ben Hilfenhaus).

Matt Prior – with Pujara’s dismissal – completed 50 dismissals at Lord’s, becoming the first wicket-keeper to do so.
