West Indies have named a 15-man squad for the ODI series against India, to be played next month. Batsmen Marlon Samuels and Dwayne Smith have been recalled into the side, as is fast bowler, Jerome Taylor. Leon Johnson, batsman who made his Test debut against Bangladesh recently, has also been called up.
A noteworthy exclusion is that of Chris Gayle, who is still recuperating from an injury. Kirk Edwards, who had a bad run with the bat against Bangladesh, also misses out on a place and so does left-arm spinner Nikita Miller. Miller’s absence makes Sunil Narine the lone specialist spinner in the squad.
The ODI series will begin on October 8 in Kochi.
