We’ll make them toil: Broad

Canberra, Dec 14: India will play, a two-day practice game from Dec 15-16, their first match Down Under, against Cricket Australia Chairman's XI.

On the eve of the match, Chairman’s XI skipper Ryan Broad said that his side would look to unsettle the star-studded Indian team in the warm-up game sounding a warning before the first Test starting on December 26.

The Queensland opening batsman has replaced Test probable Ed Cowan in the side; Cowan has been included in the other CA Chairman's XI side for the second warm-up game being played between Dec 19 -22. CA Chairman's XI squad will also field Australian players like David Warner, Usman Khawaja and Phil Hughes.

"I'm not sure how the Indians are going to want to play it but we're definitely going to play a good aggressive and positive brand of cricket," Broad was quoted as saying ahead of the match.

"If we win the toss we'll probably look to have a bat and bat as long as possible and really set the tone of the match. If we can get out there and put on a good display with the bat and make sure they're toiling out there in the hot sun, I think that can only benefit the Test team in a few weeks," he stated.

"Any way we can help out and make [the Australian Test team's] job a little bit easier, we'll be trying to press that advantage home," Broad said.

"This is almost a free hit. You're playing against some fantastic players from India, some of the best in the world and you can just go out and have fun."
