We collect and why, how we use it, and how to review and update it.Aston Rowant, July 7: India finished third in the Women’s Quadrangular series being played in England after they beat New Zealand by 32 runs at Butt’s Way, Kingston Blount here in Aston Rowant.
India, who had crashed to a 39-run defeat against New Zealand in their previous encounter on July 5, made amends for that failure riding on an impressive bowling performance.
After New Zealand captain Aimee Watkins won the toss and opted to field first, India were bowled out for 150 in 46.3 overs. Opener Poonam Raut top scored with an innings of 38 from 78 deliveries.
However, New Zealand were unable to chase down what should have been a comfortable target. Jhulan Goswami (two for 22) and Ekta Bisht (three for 15) ripped through the Kiwi top order and Amita Sharma took two lower order wickets to scuttle New Zealand for 118 in 40.3 overs. Ekta Bisht was adjudged the Player-of-the-Match.
The quadrangular series also features hosts England and Australia.
