We collect and why, how we use it, and how to review and update it.London, Sept 11: England won the toss and chose to bowl first on a Lord’s track that is likely to aid the seamers in the fourth ODI of the five-match series.
England have made one change in the squad; the hosts have replaced Jade Dernbach with Steven Finn.
Captain speak:
Alastair Cook (England)
On opting to bowl first given the grass on the surface: “Early starts at Lord’s here in September; it does move around a little bit, hope we can make [something] of that.”
On the inclusion of Steven Finn: “Just a tactical change. We wanted to give Steve a go. [He] deserves a chance.”
On the grass on the pitch, tailored to suit the England team: “Home games, you want to make it [conducive to the team], use the conditions to your advantage and we are very happy with what the groundsman has delivered so far for us.”
MS Dhoni (India)
On losing the toss: “We were looking to bowl first as well because the first ten overs have been an area of concern for us […] If we would have bowled first on a fresh wicket, we would have got something more for the seamers.”
On the positives from the previous game: “Plenty of positives, we were not able to win that game but [after] the kind of start we got, we did well to put 230-odd runs on the board and the spinners bowled really well. If you start well with the bat and the ball then you can really make a difference.”
