We collect and why, how we use it, and how to review and update it.Mumbai, Nov 13: Reigning champions Mumbai settled for three points based on their first innings lead against a combative Bengal side at Eden Gardens. After declining to enforce the follow-on the Mumbai batsmen continued to dominate on the final day as Omkar Gurav (127*) and Wasim Jaffer (104*) both notched unbeaten centuries. It was a batting masterclass from the Mumbai duo as they reached 286/1 in 75 overs on the final day’s play. Another draw for the Jaffer-led side and their wait for the first outright win of the season continue.
Meanwhile in Chennai, Delhi couldn’t quite get over the line against Tamil Nadu, but did enough to secure the three points courtesy their first innings lead. R. Ashwin got six wickets in the second innings for the home side but that wasn’t enough as Delhi declared on 209/9. The away side was clearly looking for the outright victory but a resilient show from the Tamil Nadu batsmen ensured they reached 143/3 at the end of day’s play, hence ensuring that Delhi get their first points on the table this season.
