Rajasthan to face Baroda in Ranji finals

Jaipur, Jan 6: Rajasthan have made it to the Ranji Trophy thanks to a strong first innings score after their semi-final against Tamil Nadu ended in a draw.  

Resuming on an overnight score of 190 for three, Tamil Nadu were bowled out for 385 in their first innings. This after Rajasthan had declared their first innings for 552 at the fall of seven wickets. 

For Tamil Nadu, Subramaniam Badrinath went on to score 175 not out, but ran out of partners at the other end. Kuthethurshri Vasudevadas, who was unbeaten on 22 at stumps on Day 3, and was involved in an 83-run partnership with Badrinath for the fourth wicket, was bowled by Pankaj Singh on 38. The remainder of the team could not help Badrinath pull TN through.

Vivek Yadav was Rajasthan’s man-of-the moment with four wickets to his credit. He was well supported by medium-pacer Sumit Mathur who finished with figures of 2/84, dismissing R Sathish and C Ganapathy. 

Asked to follow on, TN were two for no loss in their second innings when the four-day match came to a close.
