Mumbai, Nov 3: Rajasthan and Jharkhand recorded impressive victories in their inaugural matches of the 77th edition of the Ranji Trophy played today.
Rajasthan, riding on an impressive spell of bowling by debutant Deepak Chahar (12 wickets in the match), beat Hyderabad by an innings and 256 runs, while Jharkhand romped to a convincing innings and 1311 runs win against Tripura.
But the most imposing display of cricketing skill came from young Virat Kohli who helped himself to an score of 173 as Delhi made a fight of their match against Bengal. Bengal who had earlier posted a first innings score of 473, were at the receiving end of Kohli’s heroics for most part of the day as Delhi finished the day at a score of 328 for 6.
