We collect and why, how we use it, and how to review and update it.October 17, Kochi: In what proved to be an anti climax to a much anticipated game of 50-over cricket, after a riveting two match Test series, the first ODI between India and Australia was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to overnight rain at Kochi today.
Although the skies didn’t open up right at the start of play this morning, a heavy downpour in the middle of the night ruled out any chances of a match. The Kochi ground staff tried desperately to produce the ideal match conditions, as they went into overdrive in mopping up the water on the field with sponges, but their attempts were rendered useless as there was simply too much water around.
The three match ODI series now stands reduced to a two match affair, with the next ODI to be played at Visakhapatnam on Wednesday and the final ODI to be played in Goa on Sunday.
