"Thanks for all the wishes for d upcoming Ranji season with Himachal Pradesh. Yes, I have decided to move on...HPCA it is for the next season," the former India cricketer tweeted.
Chopra, whose book 'Out of the blue' charts Rajasthan's rise to the Ranji Trophy title in 2010-11, tweeted, "Thoroughly enjoyed my time with Rajasthan and I will miss the team camaraderie the most. The happiest dressing room I've been a part of.
"It was a tough decision but had to be taken...nothing excites me more than getting out of my comfort zone! New challenges...new beginnings!"
In the 2010-11 season, he amassed 539 runs at 89.83 including his highest first-class score of 301 not out. In the 2011-12 season, when Rajasthan successfully defended their title, he contributed 615 runs at 43.92 from nine games. Originally from Delhi, the batsman has scored 10542 runs in 154 first-class matches at an average of 46.44.
