Mumbai desk, July 12: Veteran cricketer Aakash Chopra, who played an important role in the Rajasthan Ranji team's journey from the Plate League years to the coveted trophy in 2010-11, will now be representing Himachal Pradesh in the 2012-13 season. Chopra, whose book 'Out of the blue' charts Rajasthan's rise to the Ranji Trophy title in 2010-11, tweeted, "Thoroughly enjoyed my time with Rajasthan and I will miss the team camaraderie the most. The happiest dressing room I've been a part of.
"It was a tough decision but had to be taken...nothing excites me more than getting out of my comfort zone! New challenges...new beginnings!"
In the 2010-11 season, he amassed 539 runs at 89.83 including his highest first-class score of 301 not out. In the 2011-12 season, when Rajasthan successfully defended their title, he contributed 615 runs at 43.92 from nine games. Originally from Delhi, the batsman has scored 10542 runs in 154 first-class matches at an average of 46.44.
