BCCI office-bearers meet PM

New Delhi, May 2: A group of distinguished BCCI office-bearers met Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh last week and presented him with a cricket bat signed by members of the Indian squad that won the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 last month.

BCCI President Shashank Manohar, Hon. Secretary N Srinivasan, Vice President Rajiv Shukla and Indian Premier League COO Sundar Raman met the Indian premier at his residence in New Delhi to present him the memento.

It was the first meeting between the top brass of the Indian Cricket Board and Dr. Singh after India's historic World Cup triumph at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 2.

MS Dhoni led co-hosts India to a six-wicket win against Sri Lanka in the final to regain the prestigious trophy after a gap of 28 years.

"It was a courtesy meeting with the Prime Minister and we gifted him a bat signed by all the members of the World Cup-winning team," Shukla said.
