We collect and why, how we use it, and how to review and update it.Shillong, Jan 23: Defending champions Chattisgarh beat Sikkim by 97 runs in the final of the A&A Women’s Senior One-Day tournament at the Polo Ground in Shillong to retain the title.
Batting first, Chattisgarh were all out for 158 in 40.2 overs, Inder Kaur top-scoring with 41 as Achala Vishwakarma (25) and Sobhana Tamrakar (20) chipped in with contributions.
Sikkim’s Nimakit Bhutia took bowling honours, claiming three wickets for 36 runs. She was aided by Romila Gurung (two for 24) and Kikam Bhutia (two for 27).
Sikkim’s batters, however, failed to carry forward the good work of the bowlers as they collapsed for 61 in 38.1 overs. Urmila Harina (four for 14) and Budhiprada Vaishnava (three for 7) accounted for most of the Sikkim wickets as Sunita Rai top-scored with 12 runs for the struggling side.
Hon'ble Minister for Urban Affairs, Government of Meghalaya, Ampreen Lyngdoh handed the trophy to the winners in a brief ceremony. Among the attendees were Match Referee DK Singh, Umpire Copach, Hon. Secretary of Meghalaya Cricket Association Subrata Banerjee and other BCCI match officials.
