Dinda called in as standby for Ishant

Ahmedabad, Nov 13: Ishant Sharma is down with viral fever just two days before India’s home Test series against England begins in Ahmedabad. Ashok Dinda has been named as a standby for him.

Sharma skipped the team practice on Tuesday and is likely to be fit in time for the Test that starts on Thursday, according to Honorary BCCI secretary, Sanjay Jagdale. "Ishant Sharma has got viral fever. He is expected to be fit for the first Test between India and England. However, Ashok Dinda has been told to fly to Ahmedabad as a standby," Jagdale said.

Dinda is currently with his state team, Bengal, for the ongoing Ranji Trophy.
