Bengaluru, March 6: A superlative all-round performance byYuvraj Singh shepherded India to a comprehensive five-wicket win against Ireland at the M Chinnaswamy stadium today. On the back of that all-round show, Yuvraj notched up a bunch of ODI records. Here is a run through some of the southpaw’s feats and the other statistical marvels from today’s game:

1: Yuvraj Singh became the first left-arm spinner to take five wickets in a World Cup match.

3:Niall O’Brien became the third player from Ireland to aggregate 1,000 ODI runs after Kevin O’Brien (1495) and William Porterfield (1466).

4:Number of players to perform the all-round feat of scoring 25 runs and capturing 5 wickets in the same World Cup match. Yuvraj emulated Australia’s Gary Gilmour (28 & 6-14 v England, Leeds, 1975), India’s Kapil Dev (40 & 5-43 v Australia Nottingham, 1983) and Australia’s Andy Bichel (34 & 7-20 v England, Port Elizabeth, 2003).

5:Number of wickets taken by Yuvraj Singh in the match. He became only the fourth Indian bowler to take a five-for in the World Cup, after Kapil Dev, Robin Singh and Ashish Nehra.

7: Number of times Zaheer Khan has inflicted a duck on a batsman in the World Cup. He has now equalled Javagal Srinath’s Indian record. Incidentally the World Cup record is of 15 ducks held by Glenn McGrath.

12:Number of times India have beaten an Associate country in the World Cup out of a total of 13. The only time India suffered a defeat against an Associate was against Sri Lanka in the 1979 World Cup (Sri Lanka became Full Member only in 1981).

31:Number of wickets taken by Zaheer Khan in 17 World Cup matches. He now equals Anil Kumble’s tally. Only Javagal Srinath (44) has taken more wickets for India than Zaheer Khan.
