Match report: Ind vs B’desh (Women), 2nd T20I

India Women took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series with a thumping seven-wicket win over Bangladesh Women in Baroda.

Chasing a paltry total, a 52-run opening stand between Anagha Deshpande and Mona Meshram set up the second consecutive win for the home team. Deshpande scored 28, while Mehsram made 29. Panna Gosh who broke the opening stand with the wicket of Deshpande also followed up with the wicket of debutant Swagatika Rath, while Meshram was run out soon after. After the fall of three quick wickets, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Punam Raut took the team across the line with 12 balls to spare.

Earlier, upon opting to bat first, the visiting Salma Khatun-led side was restricted to 88 for four at the Reliance Stadium. After painstakingly grafting runs, the opening partnership between Shahanaz Parvin and Farzana Haque was halted for 30 runs in the 10th over by Ekta Bisht. And 18 runs later, Haque followed Parvin back to the pavilion.  No.3 bat Shukhtara Rahman top-scored for Bangladesh with 29, while Khatun remained unbeaten on 14 as they set India an 89-run target.
