With 33 wickets and 594 runs, Parveez Rasool was the leading run-getter and the highest wicket-taker for J&K in the Ranji Trophy 2012-13 season. He followed up with an impressive seven for 45 against the visiting Australian side in a warm-up game at Chennai in early 2013. He has received high praise from former India spinner Bishan Singh Bedi and even fellow off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Signed by the Pune Warriors India on the back of a successful domestic season, Rasool will be the first player from Jammu & Kashmir to be part of the Indian Premier League. His performances impressed the Indian national selectors enough to award him his maiden India call-up, for the ODI series in Zimbabwe in 2013.
